BIG BOOK SALES are held on the outdoor front patio of the Westwood Library and in the adjoining Roberta F. Bergman Community Room of the library. There is 90 minutes free validated parking in the Library garage for shoppers at our BIG BOOK SALES.

Our BIG BOOK SALES offer a fantastic selection of new and gently used book in an amazing array of topics. These include: fiction, non-fiction, classics, poetry, literature, history, tech, cookbooks, children’s books, young adult books, mysteries, biographies, memoirs, science fiction, film, art, architecture, fashion, photography, humor, psychology, romance, Farsi-language books, self-help books, Best Sellers, Audio Books, movie DVDs, music CDs, and so much more.

Books make great gifts, and when you can buy them at the incredible bargain prices offered at our BIG BOOK SALES, you can buy even more books for yourself, or as gifts for your children, grandchildren, other family members, friends, co-workers, colleagues, and loved ones.

Most books and other items offered for sale are one of a kind at our sale, and items are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Cash is strongly preferred, but credit cards are accepted for purchases over $10.

Your purchases not only provide you with affordable reading material, but also contribute directly to the enrichment of our community through enriched library programs, resources, and services.

All of the books and other merchandise offered for sale at our BIG BOOK SALES are donated and all of the labor is graciously provided by Friends Board members and a team of dedicated volunteers, so 100% of the proceeds from our BIG BOOK SALES goes to the Friends of Westwood Library

The Friends is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit organization, which invests these funds right back into the Westwood Branch Library to provide one of the best branch libraries anywhere. This includes an enriched book collection, the extensive “Hot Off the Press” collection of brand new Best Sellers, E-books, the Criterion Collection of Classic and Contemporary movie DVDs, our monthly free Concert Series @ Westwood Library, other monthly free programs, our Cybernaut computer aide, and so much more.

The funds we raise at our BIG BOOK SALES to enable enriching programs for children, young adults and adult. We also sponsor our highly popular monthly free Concert Series @ Westwood Library, making the Westwood Library the only library out of the 72 branch libraries of the Los Angeles Public Library System with a monthly free concert series.
