IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO DONATE BOOKS TO OUR BIG BOOK SALES:
Put your unneeded, unused, or unwanted books and media to good use! The Friends of Westwood Library accepts books in good condition, DVDs in their original case, CDs in their original case, and jigsaw puzzles. NO VHS or cassette tapes, please. If you have any gently used or new books, movie DVDs, music CDs, or jigsaw puzzles that you would like to donate for our BIG BOOK SALE, please bring them inside the library in a box or bag to the Circulation Desk during regular library hours.
Please note we do NOT accept the following items: encyclopedias, magazines, textbooks, test prep guidebooks, outdated travel guides (more than three years old), VHS tapes, cassette tapes, or any books in poor condition (e.g., marked up, written in, highlighted, stained, torn or yellowed pages, broken spines, wetted, smelly, or moldy, etc.). Children’s activity books cannot already be used or marked up. These materials can be recycled in your own L.A. City Blue Bin. Please do not bring them to the library.
Also please note: Do NOT deposit your book donations in the book drop off bins on the sidewalk or anywhere else! They must be received by a library staff member inside the library during regular library hours.
All books and other items you donate must be approved by the Librarian. They are first considered by the Senior Librarian/Branch Manager for addition to the library’s collection. Items not need for the library are sold at our BIG BOOK SALES.
Your donations are 100% tax deductible, and are greatly appreciated as they enable us to offer an even wider selection of books to our community, and help us raise even more funds for the Westwood Library.
